                                             Evaluate the Opportunity

Jobseekers often are only interested in interviewing with companies they have heard of or where their friends are working. It is extremely important when searching for jobs to take the time and assess if the job you are applying for really meets your individual goals. After all, it would be unfortunate to start the search process all over again if you just settle for any job. The following questions are ones you need to ask yourself before interviewing with an organization. If, through research, you are unable to find the answers, do not hesitate to formulate positive professional questions to find the answers.

  1. Am I capable of succeeding in this job?

  2. Does the culture of the organization coincide with my cultures?

  3. Do I really want this job?

  4. Will I be able to reach my long-term goals with this company?

  5. Does the job offer me the security I am seeking?

  6. Will I be able to get along with my boss?

  7. Will I be proud of the company I am working for?

Realistically, you will not always be able to find everything out about a job until you are in it for a while. However, if you take the time to think through these questions, you will increase your chances of success.
